Google Pages

Google Pages is Google’s new web page hosting/managing/creating service which has a variety of templates to choose from to help make cool web pages. The beta program (isn’t everything Google does now?) went online earlier this week, but today Google reopened the program to the public, including me, to sign up. Pages offers a variety of tools including a very large selection of templates and image tools to get you started, along with a variety of page layouts and 100 MB of space to upload files and store your site. Some features that I would like to see in pages would be intergration with Blogger and being able to use your GMail account for file and page storage. You can check out my page, which is right now very small, but I’ll add on more later. You can also sign up for Pages and try it out yourself.

Batman Will Take On Terrorists

In one of the latest Batman comic books, Batman will fight terrorists, according to BBC News. Wow, this is just like what happened after WWII and during the Cold War when comic books made villains somewhat Fascist and Communist.

4D Cube

I found a link to this site on a digg article. Very cool, especially for a somewhat of a science geek like me. Overall, very cool.

Update: I’ve now become very interested in the concept of the fourth dimension. There’s more to read on it here.

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Today is Steve Jobs’ 51st birthday, hooray!!!! Well, Mr. Jobs has accomplished a lot in his 51 years of life including becoming a great freind, a great bussiness man, and, of course, a great rich guy. So, here’s to another year of obsolete new iPods and Macs, HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: My baby twin cousins, Kara and Erica, were also born today of February 24th, on Steve Jobs’ 50th birthday exactly one year ago today. How cool is that!

First Podcast Freebie!!!!

Yesterday I got my first free review copy for my podcast, The Teen Tech Buzz. Actually, it hasn’t arrived yet, but I have a FedEx tarcking number. The thing itself is the Free-1 Skype phone from IPEVO. IPEO is a small company that makes accecories for the Skype VoIP program. I first learned aboit the Free-1 a while ago when I was searching the web for a Mac-compatible USB Skype hone. I came accorss a couple of articles which mentioned the Free-1. I went IPEVO’s site, and there it was. The Free-1 (pricture below) is a white or black USB phone that has numbers and specila Skype buttons on it. It ahs a cool, unique design, and looks pretty nice from the online pics. It costs $30 from IPEVO. I’ll review the phone for TTB #10 (woohoo, already up to 10!!!!) on March 17th, because TTB #09 is already taken up for reviewing with Apple’s iLife ‘06. This phone is just the first step in getting The Teen Tech Buzz to be recognized as a legitimate, respected news organization, or at least give us some more listeners and free stuff.

Death of a Powerbook

Today is a sad day for me. I have just experienced a pain that all non-rich geeks must endure, having your computer become "obsolete." Today the beloved 15" Powerbook G4, which actually already replaced the original 1.67 GHz PB that I have, has been dicontinued, thanks to the success of the MacBook Pro. Well, it’s ok, I’m getting a laptop from my new high school soon, and I’ll sell this laptop for an Intel PowerMac (Mac Pro)

The Daily Show Taping: Part II

I got screwed!!!!!!!! My dad and I were around the 215th people to come to the show, and they only have 200 seats. Fill in the blanks. My dad didn’t have enough money on him to bribe someone, and there were too many people watching for my dad to whip out his Times ID. On the bright side, all people who got screwed over can get VIP seats, which means guaranteed seating and no waiting outside in the cold, simply by emailing them with yoiur name and a preffered date. The VIP tickets, like general admission, are also free. Also, the only two pics I snagged on the line are below:

The Daily Show Taping: Part I

Tonight I’m going to see a taping of, in my opinion, the best show on television, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The Daily Show, for those of you idiots out there (just kidding), is a fake news program that satirizes the latest news very, very well, The show also features certain "segments" which include This Week in God, a humorous look at the latest religious news, Trend Spotting, a which shows the latest youth "trends" in a satiric manner, and special "segments" when one of the Daily Show people goes out and talks about a stupid, unimportant event that’s happened and ridicules the people involved by interviewing them and asking them very awkward questions. The show itself is taped right here in the good old city of New York, just around 59th St. and West End avenue. They tape the half-hour show at 6:00 PM and air it at 11:00 PM EST the same night. I’ll post on here either when I get back tonight or tomorrow morning my part II update on what happened at the taping, and pictures that i took with my RAZR at the taping. One last thing, I may not even be able to go because the Daily Show overbooks each show to guarantee a full house, which means that I may not even be able to go, though hopefully my dad’s New York Times ID may help give us a better chance of getting in.

Apple Special Event on Feb. 28th

After all of the fake invites for a Feb. 22nd Apple event, there is finally a real invite for a real Apple event on February 28th at Apple Headquarters in Cuperino, California. The invitation, which was sent out to a variety of media outlets (of course, none for podcaststers and bloggers like me, as if I could go anyway because even though this is my week off from school, next week isn’t. ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!), which consists simply of an iCal icon with the date February 28th on it and the line "Come see some fun new products from Apple." Well, let the guesses begin (personally I’m HOPING for an Intel version of the PowerMac G5, but I think that it WILL be either a) an updated version of Airport Extreme of Express (perhaps video on Express and MIMO on both), b) an Intel Mac Mini with Front Row 2.0 (what was a popular choice for Macworld 2006), or c) Intel iBooks (another popular guess proved false for Macworld 2006)).
